The most recent world university rankings to be released by the UK based QS organisation reveal that Université de Montréal (UdeM) remains amongst the leaders of the pack. The annual rankings show that
UdeM remains the leading French-speaking university in the Americas and one of the best Canadian universities.
In addition to its enviable 137th position in the general rankings, UdeM rates in the top 100 in specific areas: statistics and operational research (64), philosophy (78), English and litterature
(81), sociology (83), history (84), political science and international studies (85), law (88), modern languages (90) and medicine (91).
"Every year, the excellence of Université de Montréal's research and teaching is reflected in various international university rankings, with the fields of health, fundamental science, litterature or social sciences contributing equally," said Dr. Guy Breton, Rector of Université de Montréal. "The position of our institution, which transcends our status as public French-speaking university in the Americas, is the fruit of the collective effort of the members of our campus and the support of the community that surrounds us."
