
It's been two decades since Chinese students, intellectuals and workers demonstrated in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, from April 15 to June 4, 1989. Tens of thousands gathered to denounce Chinese corruption and call for political and democratic reforms. On June 4, after attempts at negotiation, the Chinese government called its army, which opened fire and wounded or killed thousands of demonstrators.
